The kombucha splits. What now?Updated 5 months ago
Congratulations, you have offspring! The Kombucha mushroom can be brewed an infinite number of times. It grows larger or multiplies with each brewing cycle. This means that in the future you can even start several beginnings in parallel or give it to your close friends.
Sometimes the mushrooms become too big for the vessel, then you can easily divide them. After about 15-20 brewing runs, the mushrooms start to become unsightly, then you can replace them with the offspring. However, this does not affect their function.
At a thickness of 1 cm, your baby scoby is ready for its own batch. Don't forget to add the base liquid (approx. 10%).
